Our editor just won a global award from Medium
For their tireless work uplifting new and emerging voices on the platform
I don’t usually write posts like this. But some things deserve more than a Note.
Tremis Skeete, the editor of Product Coalition on Medium, just won the ‘Champion of Emerging Voices’ award at Medium’s 2026 Editor Awards.
It’s a peer-nominated award. Editors across Medium nominate the editors they respect most. It was announced at Pub Crawl to 1,900+ people from 79 countries.
The award description: ‘For their tireless work uplifting new and emerging voices on the platform.’
I want to tell you why this matters more than a trophy.
What Tremis actually does
I run the podcast. I think about strategy and partnerships and all the business stuff. But the reason Product Coalition has published 2,300+ articles since 2014 is because of Tremis.
He’s the person reading every submission. Finding writers nobody else is paying attention to and going ‘this deserves to be read.’ Not rewriting their work. Finding what they were actually trying to say and helping them say it clearly.
Most of you reading this found Product Coalition through a newsletter or the podcast. But there are hundreds of product managers out there whose first published article was on Product Coalition. Some of them went on to build entire careers around their writing. That started with Tremis opening their draft and deciding it was worth his time.
That’s not glamorous work. There’s no follower count for it. No vanity metric.
So when Medium itself says ‘this person champions emerging voices better than anyone,’ I feel something about that.
The numbers behind it
I know some of you are data people. So here’s what 11 years of championing new voices looks like:
2,300+ articles published on Medium since 2014
127 countries reached
50,000+ podcast downloads across the full library
11,000+ subscribers on Substack
Hundreds of first-time writers given a platform
And now: Medium’s Champion of Emerging Voices 2026.
The part that matters most isn’t the number of articles. It’s the writers who published their first piece with us and went on to do things I never expected. That’s Tremis.
What this means going forward
Product Coalition has always been about giving product managers a place to share what they actually learned. Not thought leadership. Not hot takes for engagement. Real lessons from real work.
That mission hasn’t changed. If anything, the award is a reminder that it’s working.
If you’ve been sitting on something you want to write about product management, our doors are open at medium.productcoalition.com. Tremis is still reading every submission.
And if you’re already subscribed here on Substack, you’re part of this too. The community we’ve built together over 11 years is what made this possible.
Congratulations, Tremis. This one’s well deserved.
